Consensus Statement

If you are unsure of the information you have gathered from your patient and what you should do next, there is a document available that may be beneficial to assist your clinical reasoning. 

The 6th International Consultation of Incontinence Recommendations of the International Scientific Committee: Evaluation and Treatment of Urinary Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Faecal Incontinence [15] is your one-stop shop of all you need to know. There are fantastic flow charts included in the document to assist your decision making with the recommended assessment and treatment options for pelvic floor dysfunction in men, women and paediatrics.

Continence Foundation Australia

You might think your patient would benefit from written information that they can take with them to look over. 

The Continence Foundation Australia has over 110 different handouts that cover every aspect of continence and pelvic floor dysfunction. Their resources include versions specific to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and for people who require information in languages other than English.

Royal Women's Hospital 

The Royal Women's Hospital has a range of fact sheets which cover all things women's health. This includes: antenatal care, peri- and post-menopausal conditions, postnatal care, return to exercise post childbirth, breast cancer and lymphoedema information, pelvic floor muscle training, coping with prolapse and many other topics.
